Stone Temple Pilots

Scott Weiland, the vocalist of Stone Temple Pilots, died a long time ago, but I didn't know they were still going.

As I wrote in the article "Blind Melon and Dokken", I think there are a lot of foreign bands that change their vocalists and survive.

Blind Melon, Dokken...

Stone Temple Pilots will be added to the list of bands that I wrote about in this article that have changed their vocalists.

In addition to Nirvana, Alice in Chains, and Soundgarden, the three main grunge bands, Blind Melon and Stone Temple Pilots, which are not grunge bands but just bands from the same era, have all lost their vocalists. But among them, Alice in Chains Soundgarden seems to be still going.

Scott Weiland, the singer of Stone Temple Pilots, used to be in Velvet Revolver with Slash and Duff from Guns. I thought it was pretty good...but not that great. Probably the biggest reason is that the drummer is Matt Sorum. I don't like his drumming because it doesn't have any push or pull, it just flows. I think the main reason why Izzy left Guns was because the drummer was replaced by Matt Sorum from Steven Adler, but I'm not sure about that.

But I think Steven Adler is going to be hard to work with. He's too uneven. When I listened to a pirated copy of Guns' pre-debut live performance, the tempo slowed down so much that I thought it was going to stop, and in a way, I was blown away. In that sense, Matt Sorum seems to be very stable and easy to work with. I can't think of any other selling point other than his stability. But from what I've heard, he seems like a really nice guy. I wonder if that's why his performance is not interesting...

Click here to see the Kanashibari Channel, where I can only think of one selling point.
